Abstract

Bachelor of Engineering - A cooperation of the University of Applied Sciences Landshut with the Technical University of Munich for the recruitment of junior staff for Vocational School

As for teacher training programmes for prospective teachers at vocational schools, Hochschule Landshut (Landshut University of Applied Sciences) and Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich) cooperate in the subjects Electrical and Information Engineering as well as Metalworking. A cooperation agreement ensures that holders of a Bachelor’s degree (B. Eng.) in Engineering Pedagogy who studied in Landshut are allowed to subsequently start the Master’s programme in Vocational Education at the Technical University. In the two years since winter term 2015/16, the study programme has become well established and student enrolments have constantly increased up to a very satisfactory level. The present essay addresses current issues in the training of vocational school teachers. Furthermore, it will analyse the aforementioned collaboration for potential challenges in the implementation process of such a cooperation model.
