Abstract

The problem-solving handling of digitized everyday technology requires not only cognitive skills but above all motivation. This paper shows the influence of the technology-related self-concept via metacognitive abilities on technical problem solving. The accuracy of metacognitive judgements differs between high and low performers, whereas the accuracy of these judgements increases during the test.
