Abstract

This article focuses on presenting the results of an online survey. The aim of the survey was to analyse the dissemination of the Geometric Product Specifications (GPS) standards system in teaching at technical vocational colleges in North Rhine-Westphalia, the teachers’ assessment of its relevance for teaching in various vocational and educational courses, their interest in further development, and site-specific differences. During the analysis of the 58 responses from teachers for trainees in relevant occupations, considerable gaps in the level of knowledge (only 32.8 % knew the system) and in the teaching were revealed. Nevertheless, teachers increasingly responded that the GPS system is not relevant to the profession.
