Practice report: Development and evaluation of a practical course for the student teachers of technology

Practical activities have great relevance in the field of technical education, for exam-ple, when students operate machines or construct and manufacture artefacts. As part of the study of teaching technology the prospective teachers should prepare for the use and implementation of those technical and practical tasks. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop a practical course for the student teachers of technology at the RWTH Aachen University to acquire necessary and valuable practical competences. For the development the model of didactic reconstruction is used, which is an empirical based, theoretical and methodological framework. It consists of the three parts technical clarification, recording student perspectives and didactic structuring.
