Abstract

With the introduction of the new educational standards for the general higher education entrance qualification in the natural sciences in 2020, teachers at vocational grammar schools must promote the decision-making competencies of students in physics lessons. So far, there is no evidence on the implementation at vocational grammar schools, although a systematic description of how teachers at vocational schools deal with assessment competence seems interesting. The present interview study follows the desideratum through the method of theoretical case selection and a survey of teachers (N = 14) from all areas of the vocational grammar school. The findings confirm previous research with regard to different types and supplement them for vocational grammar schools. Findings for teacher training in the vocational education and training sector can be derived.
