Abstract

Attitudes are important in STEM subjects, not least because they influence learning performance. For this reason, measuring them and identifying the factors that influence them is a high priority in STEM education research. This article deals with the Pupils' Attitudes Towards Technology - Short Questionnaire (PATT-SQ), a measurement instrument based on the three-component model of attitudes, which was translated into German and tested for reliability and validity. The study with N = 1165 students aged 9 to 16 years shows that the multidimensional instrument is of high quality. It provides results on students' attitudes towards technology and indicates a significant influence of gender and age on individual attitude components.
