An optimally planned and equipped technical room is a prerequisite for accident-free and learningefficient technical education. The workshops and laboratories at universities often do not match with the technical classrooms at schools, which also do not always correspond to the current state of research in technical didactics. There is a lack of experiential space for studying the subject of technical classrooms in teacher training courses. A solution can be seen in embedding virtual classrooms in university teaching. It was investigated whether virtual technical classrooms are a substitute for real technical classrooms. It was shown that knowledge acquisition in virtual and real technical classrooms is the same, and the virtual learning environment has a positive effect on motivation.
